The History of Our Company & Oyatsu Mart

Since our founding in 1947, we have remained dedicated to our core business of confectionery wholesaling, establishing ourselves as a leading distributor in Japan's Kanto region.

Building on decades of experience, we continue to provide store display proposals that reflect the latest trends and respond to changing times and environments, always striving to be a wholesaler that serves the needs of our customers.

Year Event
March 1947 Founder Take Hasegawa established Hasegawa Shoten, a confectionery wholesaler with storefront sales, in Kinshicho, Sumida-ku, Tokyo.
April 1951 Hasegawa Shoten reorganized into a corporation.
April 1966 Developed its own “Family Pack” brand.
April 1966 Company name changed to Hasegawa Co., Ltd.
October 1970 Formed a business partnership with Daishin Co., Ltd. (Osaka) and Tanekiyo Co., Ltd. (Nagoya) for joint purchasing and product development.
May 1971 The three partner companies established Family Co., Ltd. as a joint venture focused on purchasing and product development.
April 1976 Tatsuo Hasegawa became President and Representative Director.
April 1978 Partnership expanded to seven companies, forming Japan’s first nationwide confectionery distribution network, called the Family Group.
June 1980 President Tatsuo Hasegawa also became President of Family Co., Ltd.
June 1990 Asahi Shokuhin Co., Ltd. (Shikoku) joined Family Co., Ltd. as an investor.
July 1990 Seika Foods Co., Ltd. (Southern Kyushu) joined Family Co., Ltd. as an investor.
May 1993 President Tatsuo Hasegawa appointed Chairman of the National Confectionery Wholesalers Federation (resigned May 1995).
September 1994 Family Co., Ltd. renamed to JCC Co., Ltd.
March 1997 Company celebrated its 50th anniversary.
February 1999 Opened MD Center in Edogawa-ku, Tokyo.
May 1999 President Tatsuo Hasegawa appointed Chairman of the Tokyo Confectionery Wholesalers Association.
April 2001 President Tatsuo Hasegawa became Chairman and President.
December 2004 Introduced an executive officer system.
October 2005 Atsushi Ikeda became President and Representative Director.
March 2006 Relocated MD Center to Sumida-ku, Tokyo.
March 2006 Opened Niigata Sales Office (Niigata City, Niigata Prefecture).
April 2006 Formed a capital alliance with Marubeni Corporation.
August 2006 Opened Funabashi Logistics Center (Funabashi City, Chiba Prefecture).
March 2007 Opened Gunma Sales Office (Takasaki City, Gunma Prefecture).
July 2007 Relocated Funabashi Logistics Center (Funabashi City, Chiba Prefecture).
January 2008 Integrated all sales departments into a unified Sales Headquarters.
February 2008 Renewed personnel system and introduced a new system.
August 2008 Established Business Reform Committee.
October 2010 Formed a capital and business alliance with Tanekiyo Co., Ltd.
October 2012 Masao Makabe became President and Representative Director.
July 2014 Relocated headquarters to Kameido, Koto-ku, Tokyo.
October 2015 Relocated Gunma Sales Office to Isesaki City, Gunma Prefecture.
September 2016 Opened Atsugi Logistics Center (Atsugi City, Kanagawa Prefecture).
May 2017 Relocated Atsugi Logistics Center to Aikawa Town, Aiko District, Kanagawa Prefecture.
March 2019 Opened Shin-Yokohama Logistics Center (Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture).
June 2023 Yu Aoyagi became President and Representative Director.
June 2024 Opened Tohoku Logistics Center (Taiwa Town, Kurokawa District, Miyagi Prefecture).
January 2025 Officially launched our online shop, Oyatsu Mart.
March 2025 Planned relocation of headquarters (Kameido, Koto-ku, Tokyo).
